Starlight headliner installation
Fiber-optic stars, built into your headliner
A starlight headliner turns the roof lining of your vehicle into a night sky. Each of up to 1,000 fine fiber-optic strands ends at a single point in the headliner, and all of them are lit by a hidden light engine, so the stars glow while nothing electrical sits at the surface.
To install them, we remove the headliner, place each fiber by hand through compatible headliner material, route the fibers to the light engine and reinstall the headliner. It is the starry-roof look Rolls-Royce made famous, built into the car, truck or SUV you already drive.
RGBW color
RGBW lighting mixes red, green and blue with a separate white channel, so the same headliner can show a crisp white night sky, a single color or animated color effects.
Two star densities
Choose 500 or 1,000 stars. More stars make a fuller sky; the actual spacing depends on the size and shape of your roof.
Bluetooth app and remote
Every package includes Bluetooth app control and a remote for changing colors and lighting effects.
Hidden wiring
System wiring is routed out of sight, the light engine is mounted securely, and the lights power on and off with the vehicle.
Vehicle compatibility

Factory-quality finish
A thermal heat-protection layer sits between the system and the headliner, and the headliner goes back in so the stars look like they came with the vehicle.

Mobile installation means no drop-off and pickup across town: the work happens where your vehicle already is, at a time agreed in advance. Here is how an Austin appointment comes together.

Weather
Headliner work needs a dry, sheltered space. Rain, high wind or extreme heat can mean moving under cover or choosing another day.
How long it takes
Installation time depends on the vehicle: roof size and shape, a sunroof or panoramic roof, the star count and the upgrades you choose all change the amount of work. You get a time estimate for your vehicle before scheduling, and we don’t promise same-day completion.
When a workshop arrangement makes sense
Some projects are better done in a controlled indoor space, such as a suede headliner, a detailed custom design or a location without cover or power. When that applies, we talk through a workshop arrangement with you before booking.

The starlight kit and standard installation are included in each Austin package price. Any mobile travel fee and applicable vehicle surcharge are separate, and your quote lists them for your vehicle and city before anything is booked.

Panoramic-roof options
Halo lighting $199 · Shade stars $99
Adds a lighted halo around the edge of the panoramic moonroof; it does not place stars in the glass. Stars cannot be installed directly into glass. Sunroof-shade stars are available only when the vehicle has a compatible upholstered retractable shade.
Interior ambient lighting
Front Ambient Lighting $299 · Full Interior Ambient Lighting $499
Front covers the dashboard and center console; Full Interior covers the dashboard, center console and all four doors. Footwell lighting is not included. Ambient lighting can be purchased by itself or added to any starlight package for the same price. More on the ambient lighting page.
Suede headliner

Reupholsters the headliner and visors in suede and color-matches the interior handles and clips to the new headliner finish. The stars are then set into the new suede finish for a soft, custom look.

The Complete luxury interior combines the 1,000-star Signature headliner with meteors and one custom design, four-door ambient lighting, a suede headliner and visors, and color-matched handles and clips; footwells are not included. Austin starlight headliner questions
How much does a starlight headliner cost in Austin?
Austin starting prices are Essential Starlight with 500 stars starting at $699 and Signature Starlight with 1,000 stars starting at $999. The starlight kit and standard installation are included. The Complete luxury interior package (Ultimate Interior) uses 1,000 stars and starts at $1,995. Luxury vehicles add $200, and XL trucks and SUVs add $200 when applicable. Any mobile travel fee for your city is listed separately in your quote.
Can you install starlights at my home?
Yes. Austin installations are mobile, so the work can be done at your home, or at your workplace if it has a suitable space. Before the appointment we confirm the address, room to work around the vehicle with the doors open, access to power and shelter from the weather. If the location doesn’t suit the job, we talk through another arrangement with you before booking.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the vehicle and the options you choose. Roof size and shape, a sunroof or panoramic roof, the star count, and extras such as meteors, custom designs, ambient lighting or a suede headliner all change the amount of work. You get a time estimate for your vehicle before scheduling, and we don’t promise same-day completion.
Can stars be installed in cars with sunroofs?
Yes. The stars are installed in the headliner around the sunroof opening. Stars cannot be installed directly into glass. Sunroof-shade stars are available only when the vehicle has a compatible upholstered retractable shade. Panoramic moonroofs can also have halo lighting added around the edge of the moonroof, which does not place stars in the glass.
Can I choose different colors?
Yes. Every starlight package includes multiple colors and lighting effects, controlled from the Bluetooth app or the included remote. RGBW lighting mixes red, green and blue with a separate white channel, so you can run a clean white sky, a single color or animated color effects, and change it whenever you like.
Do starlights turn on and off with the vehicle?
Yes. The system is wired to power on and off with the vehicle. While it’s on, you change colors and effects from the Bluetooth app or the remote.
Can you install starlights in trucks and SUVs?
Yes. We install in trucks, SUVs, sedans and coupes. XL trucks and SUVs add $200 when applicable, and luxury vehicles add $200. Send the year, make, model, trim and roof configuration and we confirm compatibility and whether a surcharge applies.
Do you offer shooting stars?
Yes. Meteors are animated shooting-star streaks that travel across the star pattern. They can be added to any starlight package as an upgrade ($199), and several complete interior packages include them.
Do you install interior ambient lighting?
Yes. Front Ambient Lighting covers the dashboard and center console ($299), and Full Interior Ambient Lighting adds all four doors ($499); footwell lighting is not included in either. Ambient lighting can be purchased by itself or added to any starlight package for the same price.
What areas outside Austin do you serve?
The mobile service area covers the Austin metro, including Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Kyle and Buda, and Central Texas cities such as San Marcos, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Killeen, Temple, Waco, Bryan and College Station.
