It is a base reference, not a normalized equivalent-system comparison. Freight, tax, installation and certain system details may vary; see the rows above for the exact differences.

Their homepage says “delivered,” but their DIY page separately excludes freight, as do their services and installation pages, so their delivery should not be assumed free. Confirm freight with the provider.

Large-Format Design

Fewer panels. Fewer transitions. More sky.

Panels up to 4 × 10 ft let a ceiling read as a few calm planes instead of a grid of tiles. We plan layouts with the largest practical sizes first, so joints are minimized before anything is built.
  • Fewer seams across the ceiling plane
  • A more continuous, uninterrupted star field
  • Fewer connections to make during installation
  • Intentional perimeter reveal, often about one foot, for a framed look

Qualifying defects caused by StarLight workmanship may include:

  • Custom panel fabrication and assembly
  • Fabric attachment and finishing

Nationwide Freight

Shipped nationwide, quoted before you pay

Shipping cost depends on panel dimensions, quantity, packed weight, destination and delivery requirements. Residential delivery, liftgate service, oversized freight, rural locations and special unloading arrangements may affect the total. Coverage is subject to the applicable insurance policy’s terms, limits and exclusions.
  • Larger panels generally create fewer visible transitions
  • Larger panels may require more expensive freight
  • Smaller panels can be easier to maneuver and install
  • Multiple panels are packaged together where practical
  • Cost depends on dimensions, weight, crating, destination and delivery needs
  • Residential, liftgate, oversize and rural services may cost extra
  • Every shipment we arrange is insured for covered transit loss or damage

Your complete shipping total is itemized and approved before your deposit is collected.

Freight is part of your final approved quote — never added unexpectedly after you commit. You pay freight with your final balance.

Starlight panel installation FAQs

How difficult are the panels to install?
Panels arrive pre-fabricated, pre-threaded and labeled by panel. Most installs follow five steps: position, secure with the approved mounting system, make the labeled connections, connect power and enjoy. Instructions and video guidance are provided with your order, and phone/video support is available.
Is a light engine included?
Yes. Every new panel order includes the appropriately sized standard light engine system at the advertised price, including single panels, small orders, curved panels and complete-room packages. We supply enough compatible engines, required power supplies and standard controls to operate your configuration. A multi-panel system does not need a separate engine for each panel unless its design requires that.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is separate from panel prices. Shipping cost depends on panel dimensions, quantity, packed weight, destination and delivery requirements. Every shipment we arrange is insured for covered transit loss or damage. See the regional shipping estimates on this page. Your complete shipping total is itemized and approved before your deposit is collected, then paid with your remaining balance before dispatch.
How long does production take?
About 1–3 weeks, depending on order size and customization. The clock starts once your 50% deposit and final layout approval are both received.
Will everything plug into one outlet?
Where practical and technically safe, we use a simplified main power connection. Multi-engine designs are confirmed for power configuration before we promise a single-outlet setup.
Are the panels acoustic?
Yes. Every premium shipped panel system includes acoustic-board construction in its advertised base price, with no acoustic upcharge. This includes rectangular, curved and circular panels and complete-room packages. The acoustic profile and final depth are confirmed for your approved build; no absorption rating or soundproofing guarantee is claimed.
Should I choose panels or a custom built-in ceiling?
Panels are ideal for DIY, contractor installation or delivery anywhere in the country. If you plan to pay for professional installation and we can perform it, our custom built-in ceiling is the highest-end architectural option.
What does the warranty cover on shipped panels?
The 3-Year StarLight Craftsmanship Warranty covers qualifying fabrication defects in panels manufactured by StarLight, beginning on the confirmed delivery date. Light engines and electronic equipment are covered under their applicable manufacturer’s warranty. Independent customer or third-party installation labor is not covered by StarLight’s workmanship warranty.
