Clear expectations
Policies & Disclosures
At StarLight Ceilings, we believe premium craftsmanship should come with clear expectations, transparent pricing and dependable customer service.
The following policies explain how we handle project approvals, deposits, fabrication, scheduling, shipping, installation and warranty service.
StarLight Ceilings is operated by Cressey Enterprises LLC.
Our customer agreements and applicable consumer-protection laws govern each transaction. These policies do not eliminate rights provided by law.
1. Quotes & Project Approval
Every custom project begins with an individualized quote describing the approved products and services.
Depending on the project, quotes may identify ceiling dimensions, star counts, lighting features, acoustic construction, materials, equipment, installation work, freight, travel, taxes and additional options.
Work begins after the customer approves the agreed scope and applicable payment terms.
A website inquiry does not establish a binding purchase, reserve an installation appointment or guarantee a quoted price until StarLight confirms the agreement.
Changes to an approved project that affect cost or scheduling require documented customer authorization.
2. Custom Residential Installation Payments
Custom residential installations generally require:
- 50% deposit: Upon approval of the final project specifications.
- 50% final payment: Upon project completion, following operational testing and the customer walkthrough, as provided in the written agreement.
Outstanding corrections or agreed punch-list items are handled according to the project agreement and applicable law.
Additional approved work requires written authorization.
3. Premium Shipped Panel Payments
Premium panels are custom-fabricated according to the approved order.
Payment terms:
- 50% deposit: Upon approval of the design, panel configuration and quote.
- 50% remaining balance: Due after fabrication completion evidence has been provided and before shipment.
Approved freight charges are collected before dispatch.
StarLight provides photographs or video of the completed order where reasonably practical.
Shipment occurs after required payment and delivery arrangements are complete, subject to all applicable legal obligations.
4. Automotive Payments
Automotive pricing, deposits and remaining balances are specified in each accepted quote or invoice.
Services and optional upgrades must be approved before additional charges are incurred.
5. Commercial Projects
Commercial construction and lighting projects are individually scoped.
Deposits, progress payments, installation milestones, project acceptance and other commercial requirements are established in the approved commercial agreement.
The three-year StarLight craftsmanship warranty applies to qualifying StarLight workmanship, subject to the warranty terms and any applicable mandatory law.
Commercial projects do not automatically receive standard residential pricing or payment schedules.
6. Production & Installation Scheduling
- Premium shipped panels: Production is generally estimated at 1–3 weeks following final design approval and receipt of the required deposit.
- Custom residential installations: Preparation and fabrication generally require approximately 1–2 weeks, with onsite installation commonly taking 3 days to 2 weeks depending on project complexity.
These are general planning estimates. Specific commitments are established for each order.
We provide reasonable updates regarding material availability, production, installation scheduling and shipping.
For merchandise orders subject to federal shipment-timing rules, StarLight will provide required delay notices and consent, cancellation or refund options when an order cannot ship within its applicable commitment.
7. Custom Orders & Cancellations
StarLight creates custom products based on the customer’s approved specifications.
A customer may request cancellation by contacting StarLight.
Before fabrication begins, deposits are refundable subject to legally permissible deductions for reasonable, documented, nonrecoverable expenses already authorized or incurred.
After fabrication begins, cancellation may result in charges for actual custom production costs incurred to the extent permitted by law and the accepted agreement.
Deposits are not automatically forfeited merely because an order is custom.
Any applicable federal or state cancellation, defective-goods, shipping-delay or refund rights will be honored.
If StarLight cannot fulfill its contractual obligations, appropriate remedies will be provided under the agreement and applicable law.
8. Design Changes
Once the customer approves a project, changes involving panel dimensions, special shapes, materials, lighting effects, logos, installation requirements or other specifications may affect cost and scheduling.
StarLight will communicate material changes and obtain customer approval before performing additional chargeable work.
9. Nationwide Shipping
StarLight offers nationwide shipping of eligible custom panel systems.
Freight is determined by order dimensions, weight, packaging, delivery location and required handling services.
Large-format systems may require special packaging, crating, liftgate delivery or customer-arranged unloading.
Inside delivery, unloading equipment and liftgate service are included only when specifically confirmed in the approved shipping quote.
Shipping charges must be presented and approved before the customer becomes bound to pay them.
For panel orders, the complete shipping total is itemized and approved before the deposit is collected, then paid with the remaining balance before dispatch.
Every shipment arranged by StarLight Ceilings must have actual shipment/cargo insurance secured before dispatch. This includes panel orders, separately shipped electronics, replacement products and return shipments arranged by StarLight.
Insurance must cover the shipped merchandise’s full invoiced value against covered transit loss or damage.
Coverage is subject to the applicable insurance policy’s terms, limits and exclusions.
Ordinary carrier liability or declared value alone does not satisfy this requirement.
The insurance cost is included in the approved itemized shipping quote. It is a standard part of our shipping arrangements, not an optional customer upgrade.
Shipment insurance is separate from the StarLight craftsmanship warranty and applicable manufacturer warranties.
Customers should inspect their shipment, photograph visible damage, retain packaging and contact StarLight promptly about any damage or missing components.
StarLight coordinates carrier and insurance claims.
StarLight will coordinate appropriate remedies for qualifying shipping damage or defective goods.
No suggested inspection period eliminates rights that cannot legally be waived.
Insurance policy terms, limits and exclusions do not by themselves remove rights a customer has under applicable law.
10. Installation Requirements
Custom ceilings must be installed with appropriate structural support, suitable mounting methods and proper electrical connections.
DIY and contractor-installed panels must be installed according to the supplied instructions and the actual site conditions.
Customers should use qualified professionals where structural, electrical or other regulated work is required.
StarLight can provide reasonable remote product and installation guidance.
Damage actually caused by incorrect third-party installation is not covered under the voluntary StarLight craftsmanship warranty.
However, third-party installation does not automatically eliminate coverage for unrelated StarLight fabrication defects.
11. Warranty Coverage
StarLight provides a 3-Year Limited Craftsmanship Warranty for qualifying defects arising from our own manufacturing, fabrication and installation workmanship.
Coverage is available to the original purchasing customer for the applicable three-year period.
Light engines and independently manufactured electronic components are handled under their applicable manufacturer’s warranty.
The complete warranty explains coverage, exclusions, start dates, shipping, repairs and service procedures.

Residential and commercial onsite warranty service within a 100-mile radius of the Ogden location includes reasonable travel.

Automotive warranty repairs are performed by appointment at the Ogden location.
Shipped panel workmanship coverage does not include installation labor performed by independent contractors.
All arrangements remain subject to applicable customer rights.
13. Manufacturer Equipment Warranties
StarLight uses lighting systems and related components supplied by third-party manufacturers.
Product warranty duration, requirements and exclusions depend on the specific manufacturer and model.
StarLight assists customers with eligible manufacturer claims where practical.
A three-year StarLight craftsmanship warranty is not a three-year independent warranty on every light engine or controller.
Manufacturer warranty documents are provided or made accessible as applicable before purchase.
14. Financing Information
Customers may ask about available financing options.
Any available financing depends on actual provider arrangements and qualification requirements.
No specific lender, approval, APR or monthly payment is guaranteed by this page.
15. Customer Rights
Nothing in these policies limits applicable nonwaivable consumer rights.
If a provision conflicts with mandatory consumer-protection law, the applicable law governs.
Prior contracts and warranty commitments remain binding according to their terms and applicable law.
Policy revisions do not retroactively take away existing customer rights.
